Integrative Breathing Therapy
Breathing well can be a life saver – literally! But so many people suffer with not being able to breathe comfortably or freely. Maybe you’ve been told some ‘breathing training’ could be useful to help with your sleep, your mood, or your athletic performance, but you don’t know where to go or what’s involved?
This is an exciting new addition to the care we can provide our patients. Our Senior Osteopaths Betsy and Imogen have completed a 6 month intensive training course in Integrative Breathing Retraining.
The first appointment starts with a thorough history , then a check of your oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, and some evidence-based questionnaires to assist in making a diagnosis. Your osteopath will make a thorough assessment of how you are breathing, talk you through what the diagnosis and recommended treatment is, and put together a treatment plan that is tailored to you.
Integrative Breathing Retraining combines a wide range of breathing techniques, postural awareness and movement exercises, muscle rehabilitation, mindfulness and relaxation techniques, as well as manual therapy. Our Initial consult ‘Breathing’ appointment type is for patients who would like help with issues such as:
